Soak in the World’s Most Iconic Waters at WorldSprings
By Monica Wallis
Ever dreamed of slipping into the mineral-rich Dead Sea or rejuvenating in Iceland’s famed Blue Lagoon? Now you can, just minutes away in The Colony.
While visiting the aforementioned locations requires lengthy travel and significant expense, at WorldSprings, an all-in-one wellness experience, you can transition from the planet’s most healing waters to a Finnish sauna—all in a single afternoon. “This is the only place in the world where these waters coexist,” said Jackie Stauffer, WorldSprings’ Chief Marketing Officer.
When the venue opened its doors at Grandscape in June 2024, it immediately redefined the concept of wellness in the U.S. Spanning ten pristine acres, this one-of-a-kind complex boasts 40+ mineral pools, three cold plunges, eight saunas, a state-of-the-art spa, and a culinary program that reflects its globally inspired ethos.
Lauded by Thrillist as “the Disney World of wellness” and hailed by guests as “a vacation without the airfare,” WorldSprings offers an unrivaled escape in the heart of the metroplex.
The World’s Best Waters – All in One Place
The concept for WorldSprings was sparked by a simple yet revolutionary idea: why not bring the world’s most celebrated hot springs to one location? “The culture of soaking has been around for centuries,” Stauffer said. “It’s hugely popular in Europe and Asia, but it hasn’t been normalized here in the U.S. We wanted to make this experience more accessible—to eliminate the barriers of time, cost, and distance.”
Furthermore, most wellness activities are scattered across multiple locations—saunas, hot tubs, massages, yoga, cryotherapy, and beyond – you typically have to drive from one spot to the next for each. WorldSprings changes that by bringing it all together in one place, seamlessly combining the treatments within steps of each other.
Your Wellness, Your Way
Explore the property at your own pace or take your soak to the next level with their innovative Mineral Method (think of it as your own wellness playground!). The Mineral Method features seven self-guided wellness circuits, allowing guests to customize their visits based on personal goals and maximize their experience.
Embark on journeys like Sleep, Athletic Recovery, Anti-Inflammatory, Stress, Longevity, Family Time, and Fire & Ice Metabolism. Each circuit was meticulously crafted in collaboration with WorldSprings’ Wellness Advisor and precision medicine practitioner Dr. Sara Szal-Gottfried. An accomplished Harvard- and MIT-educated physician, Szal-Gottfried is the author of four New York Times bestselling books on health and wellness. With over 25 years leading the way in functional and precision medicine, she passionately champions women's health and empowers communities as a professor, speaker, and yoga teacher. Her expertise is yet another testament to the world-class experience WorldSprings provides.
Conveniently located just minutes from Dallas Love Field and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, WorldSprings even welcomes guests during airport layovers. Stauffer mentioned how one guest has made evening soaks integral to her sleep regimen. She arrives, leaves her phone in her car, follows her soaking and sauna routine while wearing red-light glasses to avoid blue light, and then drives home, slipping straight into pajamas and bed. Others have reported relief from conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and stress, highlighting the diverse benefits of the Mineral Method.
Soak and Socialize
Advantages extend beyond the physical. “One of the epidemics of the world right now is loneliness,” Stauffer said. “Our pools are sized in a way to create community and allow people to chat. Part of our job here at WorldSprings as a team is helping to broker that community in a very organic way.” Guests often leave with stories of newfound connections—like groups bonding in the sauna or strangers singing together during a cold plunge. “We did a cold plunge challenge in the summer, and it was just stranger after stranger jumping in the cold plunge, holding hands. I was timing them, and they were trying to pass the time. They were like, ‘What song do we all know?’ And then they all started singing Usher, and this went on until they hit the timer, and they were all basically best friends by the time they got out of the cold plunge,” she added, smiling.
Inclusivity is also a key focus. The facility is ADA-accessible, featuring wheelchair-accessible pools, pathways, and a sauna. “The whole site is accessible for people with mobility limitations,” explained Karie Slagle, WorldSprings’ Director of Marketing, during a property tour. “In the Globe Pool and the Dead Sea pool, we actually have a wheelchair lift so people can experience those who otherwise couldn’t.”
Thoughtful Details at Every Turn
Every element has been carefully curated to create an immersive, seamless experience – from the design of the pools to the surrounding landscapes. As you move through the property, the subtle design choices transport you across continents, even if you don’t notice them at first glance. “In the European region, the pools are perfect squares, reflecting geometric precision,” said Slagle. “In the Asiatic region, the pools are circular, surrounded by plants native to that area.” Think Japanese maples, Middle Eastern palm trees, and lush greenery that mirrors the natural beauty of each global destination.
The thoughtful touches don’t stop there. Hooks and stands for towels and robes are conveniently placed by each pool, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience. Inside the locker rooms, you’ll find swimsuit dryers that quickly remove excess water so your bag – and everything in it – stays dry. Hydration stations are also sprinkled throughout the property, making it easy to stay refreshed as you soak and detox.
And let’s not forget the atmosphere: pristine, modern, and visually stunning, with sweeping, unobstructed views of Legacy West and the surrounding area – protected by a floodplain that prevents future development (Great news for WorldSprings, as no one wants a bulldozer in the backdrop of their soak).
All the Amenities
Not only can you soak, plunge, and sweat, but the property offers a range of optional add-ons, including premier spa treatments like massages and facials. Guests can also join yoga and water aerobics classes, blending fitness with relaxation. For those looking to enhance recovery, there are cutting-edge performance therapies. Pair your soak with full-body cryotherapy, compression boot therapy, or LED red light therapy to maximize your wellness journey.
Families are welcome, too, with a third of the property designed for guests under 18. Seeking tranquility? Quiet zones and individual changing rooms provide privacy and peace. And for the ultimate luxurious resort vibe, you can even rent a cabana.
Wellness here is surprisingly accessible, with pricing starting at just $59 for adults (soak prices vary based on day and time). Considering the premium amenities included – like complimentary towels, upscale locker rooms, and thoughtful extras – it’s an incredible value.
Insider’s tip: don’t miss the magic after sunset! The property transforms at night with twinkling string lights and occasional movie nights, making it the perfect spot for bachelor or bachelorette trips, birthdays, or even some well-deserved post-holiday me-time.
Globally Inspired Dining
No wellness experience is complete without delicious, nourishing food, and WorldSprings delivers a menu inspired by flavors from around the globe. Guest favorites include the watermelon refresher (available as a cocktail or mocktail), ancient grain salad, and seasonal dishes like the kale, pomegranate, and goat cheese winter salad. Relaxation is effortless with poolside drink service, offering everything from specialty elixirs and health-focused options, perfect for lounging in vacation mode.
And, beginning early this year, the team will partner with The GEM—Dallas’ first free-standing organic juice bar—founded by moms Mary Kathryn Bass and Leslie Needleman, the latter a breast cancer survivor. Known for their unwavering commitment to health and wellness, The GEM will elevate the site’s dining experience with fresh, organic juices.
Your Year of Wellness Awaits
Having just opened in June, WorldSprings is already planning its expansion. A second location is set to open near Zion National Park (Utah), and plans for a Houston location are also underway. But here in The Colony, the focus remains on listening to guests and refining the experience.
“We are still really new. And so, for us, it's important to make sure that we're listening and adapting,” Stauffer emphasized. From surveys to partnerships with local brands, the team’s always looking for ways to serve the community better.
Whether you’re a seasoned wellness enthusiast or just curious to see what all the buzz is about, WorldSprings has something for everyone. Choose from flexible membership options, with both annual and monthly plans available, or surprise someone special with a gift card – perfect for anyone in need of a little extra relaxation and rejuvenation in the new year.
As one guest perfectly summed up: “It feels like a getaway – but it’s only 20 minutes from home. I leave feeling relaxed, recharged, and honestly, like the best version of myself.”
