Letetia Smith

by Frisco STYLE
in Profiles

Letetia Smith, interviewed in our January article “Tackling Trafficking”, has lived in Frisco for 16 years and currently works at UT Southwestern as an RN on the cardiac stepdown unit and as a program director with Treasured Vessels Foundation. Mrs. Smith volunteers with her mentoring youth through their family's non-profit Destiny's Leaders, which provides leadership training, mentoring, community service and financial literacy classes for youth and their families. She is also a member of Frisco Sunrise Rotary where she leads the Rotaract and Interact Youth Leadership program.

Mrs. Smith’s educational background includes receiving an Associates of Applied Science in Health Management and Associates of Applied Science in Nursing. “A few awards that I am proud of include Faith Community Nursing Certificate, Graduate of Leadership Frisco class of XXIII and being an award recipient of coaches that care through PSA sports,” reflects Mrs. Smith. “The thing that I love best about both jobs is that I get to serve and love others. I am invited into very personal details of vulnerable individuals ... THIS is such an honor!”

A self-proclaimed introvert, some might not know that Mrs. Smith loves reading and traveling but never learned how to swim. Her love of books leads her to visit her favorite place quite frequently. “I spend many hours in the Frisco Public Library enjoying the environment, talking to staff and working in the nice quiet space.” In addition to loving her family well, including her spouse, Dexter, and 15-year-old daughter, she is dedicated to saving and changing the lives of others. “I am a passionate leader in the community whose mission in life is to save and change lives; I accomplish this mission through leadership courses that I have developed and taught and have mentored over 100 leaders in the community.”
