Leah’s Tangy Chili

Try out this quick and easy chili recipe from Frisco Style Magazine

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 1 batch

INGREDIENTS

    r

  • 1 medium yellow onion chopped
  • r

  • 4 clove(s) garlic minced
  • r

  • 6 ounce(s) beer of choice
  • r

  • 1 pound(s) ground beef or turkey
  • r

  • 15 ounce(s) black beans rinsed
  • r

  • 15 ounce(s) kidney beans rinsed
  • r

  • 15 ounce(s) diced tomatoes
  • r

  • 15 ounce(s) tomato sauce
  • r

  • 6 ounce(s) tomato paste
  • r

  • 7 ounce(s) chopped green chilis
  • r

  • 1 cup(s) water
  • r

  • 3 tablespoon(s) chili powder
  • r

  • 2 teaspoon(s) dried thyme
  • r

  • 1 teaspoon(s) dried cilantro
  • r

INSTRUCTIONS

    r

  1. In a large pot, brown ground beef, including onions.
  2. r

  3. Drain off the grease and return to the pot adding beer.
  4. r

  5. Cook on medium heat until alcohol begins to evaporate, add garlic and canned ingredients. Mix well.
  6. r

  7. Add the water and spices. Simmer on medium 15-20 minutes.
  8. r

  9. Serve over rice, cornbread or corn chips with cheddar cheese, sour cream and salt.
  10. r
