The holiday season has officially arrived. This time of year can be stressful, but that’s nothing a bit of thoughtful planning can’t thwart – especially when it comes to deciding which festive events you intend to attend.

Holiday must-see-and-do lists can grow lengthy with the multitude of light shows, festivals, concerts and other events that are scheduled throughout North Texas. In our own back yard is Frisco’s beloved Christmas in the Square event, happening Nov. 18-Jan. 3, with such seasonal activities as ice skating, visits with Santa, massive choreographed lights show and carriage rides, among others (additional details are available at friscosquare.com). 
To help keep your schedule on track, Frisco STYLE has compiled this non-inclusive list of holiday events happening in an around our city. No matter where you choose to celebrate the season this year, there is certain to be plenty of joy to go around.

Nov. 10-13

’Neath the Wreath
9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday

This 27th annual holiday gift market by the Junior League of Collin County features such items for sale as home decor, clothing, jewlery and gourmet food, among others. Proceeds benefit area educational and community projects and programs.

Nov. 17-Jan. 1

Dallas Zoo Lights
5:30-10 p.m. nightly
Dallas Zoo, 650 S.R.L. Thornton 
Freeway, Dallas
Be dazzled by more than a million lights twinkling throughout the zoo, including larger-than-life animal lanterns and holiday-themed displays. Visits with Santa will also be available.

Grapevine Main Station

Acitivities in the proclaimed Christmas Capital of Texas are set to include a 4,500 square-foot ice rink, train trips on the North Pole Express, photos with Santa and a Christmas Village.

Cowboys Christmas 
Extravaganza
6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays 
The Star, One Cowboys Way, Frisco
This fifth annual event will feature a 20-minute show that begins with the lighting of The Star’s 67-foot Christmas tree. Performances by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dancers and Rookie Squad, Dallas Cowboys Drumline, mascot Rowdy and Santa are scheduled as well as appearances by Dallas Cowboys players.

Lights on The Lake

The lakeside event will feature a glittering light show, a hot air balloon glow, a ferris wheel, carousel, ice skating, live holiday music and dance performances.

Home for the Holidays
Beginning at 10:30 a.m. Friday 
Downtown McKinney, 111 N. Tennessee St., McKinney
The City of McKinney’s 41st annual holiday festival will encompass 14 downtown blocks and feature a tree lighting ceremony, family friendly activities and seasonal favorite foods.

The Nutcracker

Lights on the Farm

This annual event transforms the museun into a winter wonderland with more than one million lights and animated holiday displays.

It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play

The Gift of Christmas 2022

This event attracts thousands of guests annually with stunning multimedia displays, a 1,000-member cast and choir and a living Nativity.

Frosty 5K & Merry Mile presented by Texas Health Hospital Frisco

Get your blood pumping during this festive race, sponsored by Texas Health Hospital Plano. Proceeds benefit Play Frisco’s recreation and special event scholarship program that funds events year round.
