National Vietnam War Veterans Day is observed yearly on March 29 as a way to recognize and honor the nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families for their service. The Frisco Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is doing just that by hosting a “Welcome Home” ceremony on March 29, 2021 to honor and celebrate all Vietnam veterans.
Since 1968, the VFW Post 8273 has provided services that improve the lives of veterans, military personal and their families, all while supporting local citizen participation for the improvement of the Frisco community. The VFW programs are at no cost to the veteran or family and require no VFW-affiliation for assistance.
As an official United States of America Vietnam War Commemorative Partner, the Frisco VFW Post 8273 is proud to host this event to show Vietnam veterans in Frisco and surrounding communities that they are valued and respected for their service. This event is the “welcome home” they never received after returning home more than 45 years ago.
The Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Ceremony will include special appearances from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the Huey 197, as well as a keynote address from Major General James E. Livingston, Medal of Honor Recipient, USMC (Ret). General Livingston is the most highly decorated Marine Infantry Officer from the Vietnam War. This free event is open to the public but a reservation is required. Please visit www.friscovfw.org to RSVP.
