A gingerbread house-decorating workshop scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Sunday will serve double duty as a fundraiser for a North Texas charity.
The workshop being held at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, at 5762 Grandscape Blvd. in The Colony, is open to children and adults. Lena Huynh, the restaurant’s pastry chef, will lead a decorating demonstration and teach youngsters children who participate how to personalize their holiday cookie houses.
Tickets are $65 per child and include one gingerbread house to decorate as well as lunch and an opportunity to meet Santa. Adult admission is $50 (tax and gratuity excluded) and includes lunch and water.
The event will be hosted by radio personality Kellie Rasberry of “The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show,” and will also feature a silent auction, the proceeds from which will benefit Kidd’s Kids. For three decades, the nonprofit organization has funded memorable experiences for children with life-altering and life-threatening conditions. The auction will feature items donated by businesses in the Grandscape shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
