Dr. Angela Romney

by FSM
in Profiles

Dr. Angela Romney, interviewed in our article “Programme of Excellence,” graduated from Brigham Young University, has a master's degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Dallas Baptist University which has allowed her to be in the education sector as a teacher, principal and district administrator for over 20 years. Currently, she is the managing director of academic programs in Frisco ISD where she oversees and supports all of the college, career and military readiness initiatives in the district. Dr. Romney’s goal is to help improve the educational system in Frisco so students will receive the best out of their education. “I love watching our students use their learning and experiences gained in Frisco ISD to move forward and achieve their college, career and life goals.”

In 2014, while Dr. Romney was the principal of Wester Middle School, she was awarded the Region 10 Principal of the Year and helped Wester Middle School earn the Texas Schools to Watch distinction. Furthermore, she assisted Frisco ISD in earning the College Board's District Advanced Placement Honor Roll for increasing advanced placement participation and performance in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Aside from Dr. Romney’s goal toward improving the quality of education in Frisco, she experienced a remarkable educational upbringing as her father was in the military which allowed her to attend five different elementary schools, including one in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Romney enjoys spending a lot of quality time with her husband, Kimball, and her three daughters, Maya, Adrienne and Morgan. When Dr. Romney and her family moved to Frisco, her parents, grandparents, and sister all moved to Frisco shortly thereafter as well. In addition to her vast family, Dr. Romney enjoys the immense culture and activities that Frisco has to offer. “My favorite activity in Frisco is attending FC Dallas games, Frisco Miracle League soccer games and eating delicious Tex-Mex food.”
