Dr. Robert and Eliza Douglass purchased the lot at 9121 Sixth Street during the original auction of the land plots that make up the Old Donation. Patti and Dick Ellis live in the home presently and have for almost six years.
Mrs. Ellis says they named their home “The Douglass Home” after Dr. Douglass. She explains, “We want to honor Dr. Douglass and his family for the great home they built that we still enjoy 115 years later. Any time we do a renovation to the home we do our best to keep the Folk Victorian Farmhouse look and feel.” r
It is the Ellis family’s hope that they live in the home, which received its historical marker in 2015, for many more years!
