In the third installment of Frisco STYLE’s exclusive digital series What Every Newcomer Should Know, we share several ways new Frisconians – as well as longtime residents – can become better connected to the community.
Frisco City Council meetings
The Frisco City Council meets the first and third Tuesday of each month to discuss official city business. Residents can attend meetings in person at the City Council Chamber, located within the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center (6101 Frisco Square Blvd.), from 7-9 p.m. or watch the proceedings online. friscotexas.gov/585/City-Council
Frisco Town Hall meetings
Hosted by the Frisco mayor and city council members, Town Hall meetings provide in-depth information about the community, projects, programs, services and special events. Town Hall meetings, which culminate with Q&A sessions, are open to all residents and are held from 7-9 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, located within the George A. Frisco ISD Board of Trustees meetings
Regular meetings of the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees are typically held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the Frisco ISD Administration Building/Board Complex, 5515 Ohio Drive. Board meetings may also be live streamed online. All residents are welcome to attend. Frisco Chamber of Commerce
For local business owners, connecting with the Frisco Chamber of Commerce is a great way to network with fellow business owners and local community leaders. Chamber members meet weekly. The Chamber also boasts several niche groups including one for young professionals, a women’s group and a veterans’ group. friscochamber.com
Leadership Frisco™
Sponsored by the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Frisco™ is a nine-month community leadership program designed to explore Frisco’s government, educational system, economic development and service organizations among other issues and services. Frisco Fanatics
Frisco Fanatics is Visit Frisco’s new destination training program.
