Dr. Janie Sanders

Dr. Janie Sanders, interviewed in our article “Texas Health Frisco Doctor Leads Local COVID-19 Care,” currently holds a bachelor’s degree in biology at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Loui., received her doctorate from Tulane University in New Orleans and completed her residency for emergency medicine at UT Southwestern/Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Her expansive education has helped her serve as Emergency Medical Consultant (EMC) of TeamHealth as an emergency medical physician. She is also the medical executive of the emergency division at Texas Health Frisco and has been practicing emergency medicine in the Dallas Fort Worth area for approximately ten years.

Dr. Sanders and her honorary team at Texas Health Frisco are committed to protecting the citizens of Frisco, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I am proud to be a part of the Texas Health Frisco team. We are dedicated to improving the health of the people in our community. I am continually impressed by Texas Health Frisco’s ability to grow, flex and meet the needs of our community during these unprecedented times,” claimed Dr. Sanders. She also mentioned that the COVID-19 vaccine will help get Frisco back on its feet, but in the meantime, all safety precautions must be continued. “The COVID-19 vaccine brings hope and an opportunity for us to return to some sort of normalcy. However, until the vaccine can reach everyone, we need to continue to fight this virus together by wearing a mask, social distancing and washing hands frequently.”

Furthermore, Dr. Sanders provides for her community by supporting her local food pantry on a regular basis and plans to volunteer in other ways with her family in the future. Speaking of her family, Dr. Sanders is married to Dr. Drew Sanders, a trauma orthopedic surgeon, who practices at Parkland Hospital and they have two sons. In their free time, Dr. Sanders and her family enjoy exploring Frisco and the wonderful activities it holds. “Our boys have been practicing their casting and are excited about the upcoming Trick-A-Trout in February. My husband and I enjoy discovering new restaurants, mostly in the form of take out these days, but hopefully in person real soon!”
