“Service Above Self” is a way of life for those serving in the Frisco Fire and Police Departments. Every quarter, the Rotary Club of Frisco awards a member of the Frisco Fire Department or the Frisco Police Department with the Service Above Self Award. This is a way to recognize first responders identified by the Command Staff of the respective department. At today’s meeting, the Rotary Club of Frisco honored Officer Nessa McFarland of the Frisco Police Department. r

r

Officer McFarland joined the Frisco Police Department in July 2016. Before coming to Frisco, she worked as an assistant county attorney in Brazos County, where she prosecuted DWIs, gang offenders and drug offenders. She earned her bachelor’s of science degree in psychology from Texas A&M University and her jurist doctorate from Texas Wesleyan School of Law. She completed clerkships at the Department of Justice in Washington DC, the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Tarrant County Attorney's Office. She even graduated valedictorian from the Denton Police Academy and has been serving Frisco, working night shift in Patrol, since March 2017. Officer McFarland investigates crime, excels at domestic violence investigations and serves the community with dignity and respect.

r

Thank you for helping make Frisco a better place, Officer McFarland! Congratulations!
