If there’s a better way to start the day than with a steaming-hot cup of coffee, we don’t know what it is.
Apparently, we’re not alone: According to the results of a 2020 survey by the National Coffee Association, 62 percent of Americans drink coffee daily – about three cups per day on average, as a matter of fact.
Luckily, there are plenty of places where Frisconians can have their caffeine cravings quenched. Whether it is for that must-have morning mug of dark-roast joe, a quick bite to eat over a mid-afternoon macchiato or a semi-quiet corner in which to sit and get some work done, any of the coffeehouses situated in the city can likely check those boxes just fine.
A number of independently owned-and-operated shops (including some belonging to Texas-born-and-bred chains) have opened their doors throughout Frisco, going head-to-head against local outlets of much larger, ubiquitous java joints. Each is grinding away while making its mark on the local coffee scene.
Some boast aromatic blends made from specially sourced, premium beans that are specially roasted to achieve bold, intense flavors. Meanwhile, “latte art” – intricate designs and pretty portraits crafted on the fluffy foam atop drinks – has become a calling card for others. Alongside their brews, most places also serve selections of unique sandwiches, tempting pastries and delicious desserts as well as tempting teas and other beverages.
Consider visiting a few – or all – of the coffeehouses on this non-inclusive list compiled by Frisco STYLE to see, smell and, most importantly, taste what’s brewing.
