Frisco resident Chuck Wright was recently appointed to the board of directors for the DFW USO. The USO is known for its service to our active-duty military dating back to 1942. The DFW USO recently remodeled its facilities at DFW Airport and is building a storefront at Love Field as well.
Mr. Wright is currently a member of the Frisco Veterans Advisory Council, the Vice-Chair of the Texas Veteran’s Commission Fund for Veteran Assistance as well as a Leadership Frisco Class XIII graduate. He is an Honorary Board Member of the Woody Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, which is building a Gold Star Family Monument that will be located next to the Frisco Veteran’s Memorial in Frisco Commons.
Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments are a two-sided tribute made of black granite. One side bears the words: Gold Star Families Memorial Monument, a tribute to Gold Star Families and Relatives who sacrificed a Loved One for our Freedom. The other side tells a story through the four granite panels: Homeland, Family, Patriot and Sacrifice. The scenes on each panel are a reflection of each community’s Gold Star Families and their fallen heroes. At the center of this tribute is a silhouette of the loved one who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.
The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument (GSFMM), honoring the families of servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives while serving in the military, is having their monument dedication on May 13, 2021, at Frisco Commons Park (8000 McKinney Rd., Frisco).
