It’s the stuff of which Halloween screams, er, dreams are made.
Frights ‘n Lights Frisco is set to debut Oct. 2 at Riders Field, 7300 Roughriders Trail. The family friendly event, featuring several festive but not-too-spooky attractions, is slated to run through Nov. 6.
“We are thrilled to debut Frights ’n Lights Frisco this fall,” said Warren Michael Lyng, vice president of PPG, producers of the event. “With just the right balance of silly and spooky, we’ve created a truly unique fall attraction that puts fun before fear.”
Boasting the largest and safest trick-or-treat trail in Texas, Frights ‘n Lights is different than the parking-lot pumpkin patches and haunted houses that are ubiquitous this time of year.
Attendees may view hundreds of intricately carved pumpkins that will be on display. If faces on the seriously Instragrammable squashes look familiar, it is because dozens will be etched with likenesses of the world’s biggest sports, television and film stars. Meanwhile, some of Hollywood’s most-iconic characters and celebrities will be on hand in the form of giant glowing lanterns.
Another highlight will be the Headless Horseman Haunted Hay Maze, in which participants are challenged to help Ichabod Crane escape the labyrinth before midnight. Head over to Frank N. Shine’s Freaky Foam Pit to dance amid a bevy of bubbles and gallons of goo. For an additional fee, youngsters may traverse the Trick or Treat Trail, collecting candy along the way.
A slew of carnival games, rides and other activities are planned, and themed food and beverage options will be available for purchase.
