Dallas Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones and wife Gene Jones are scheduled to appear Friday at The Star to light the district’s 67-foot Christmas tree and kick off the “Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza” show.
Admission is free to the 20-minute show, which will feature performances by the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and others. It will be staged at 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 24 on Tostitos Championship Plaza, at 9 Cowboys Way, in Frisco.
Legendary Cowboys’ players and their families are also set to participate in the festivities throughout the holiday season, including Dixon Edwards (Nov. 26), Jason Witten (Nov. 27), Drew Pearson (Dec. 3) and Joe Looney (Dec. 4). Additional appearances will be announced soon.
Also taking the stage during the “Extravaganza” are the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dancers and Drumline, the Cowboys Rookie Squad, mascot Rowdy and Santa Claus.
The show is presented as part of the fifth-annual “Christmas at The Star” event, which will also feature visits with Santa Claus at his Cowboys fan-themed cottage, located at 3620 The Star Blvd. Suite 1205, beginning Nov. 26. Photo packages, which may be purchased, include a printed photo and a Cowboys gift for each child. Appointments are available at TheStarDistrict.com/Santa. (Walk-ins will be welcome with limited availability.)
On Dec. 21, the Dallas Cowboys Football and Dance Academy will offer Holiday football and dance camps at The Star. The Youth Academies work to develop young athletes and dancers through personalized, interactive coaching from former NFL players and current Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
